Roles and permissions
Access in Leaders is controlled by roles and the permissions those roles grant. The main nav only shows areas you can open; opening a restricted URL shows Forbidden.
What unlocks each main area
| Area | You need at least |
|---|---|
| Events | Permission to view events |
| People | Permission to view members |
| Check-in | Permission to view check-in or scan tickets |
Finer actions (create events, invite members, export guests, scan vs only view check-in, and so on) require additional permissions assigned through roles.
Organization vs branch roles
- Organization-wide roles apply across the whole org
- Branch roles apply for specific branches
Someone can hold both. When you invite a member, assign at least one organization role or branch assignment so they can work after they accept.
Membership status
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | Full member of this organization |
| Invited | Invite sent; becomes Active when they sign in and open Leaders |
| Suspended | Access blocked until someone reactivates them |
| Removed | Membership closed; can be reactivated later |
Owner
Organizations have an Owner-level role with full control. Use it carefully—Owners can manage settings, people, and events for the org.
Owner and Organization Admin can also create, list, and revoke organization API keys from My organization. Other roles cannot.
If you cannot see Events, People, or Check-in, ask an Owner or admin to review your roles for the active organization.
